It is an extremely widespread species from northern India through China down
into southeast Asia & islands of the South Pacific. It thrives in
temperate to subtropical climates, & thanks to gardening practices is busily
extending its range, naturalizing in many parts of the world. EXTREMELY easy
to grow, it tolerates more sun & dryness & rocky soils than do most ferns.
Grows to about a foot tall, can spread on rhizomes to three feet or wider
